My arch Linux install for the new Slimbook laptop currently on order, when it arrives this page will show how I should install the OS (it won't have one initially).

Note that the script is not setting permissions for anything in the GitLab. The only extra perms to check would be .config/qtile/autostart.sh and .config/polybar/launch.sh .

General Plan

The following steps will describe what order to install the many programs that will make up a fully useable system. Each step should be followed by the relevant configurations, this will make sure nothing is missed along the way.

The Base System

Base OS: Arch Linux

• Shell: zsh (toggle for extras)

Package Manager: yay (after base-devel)

Text Editor: vim

Extra Programs:

• bat (cat alternative)
• eza (ls alternative)
• htop
• ranger (terminal file browser)
• base-devel
